Specimen Requirements	Preferred specimen preserved urine: BD C&S transport tube or Boric acid transport tube, Will also accept unpreserved urine: specimen in sterile container
Specimen Collection / Processing Instructions	Unpreserved urine must be refrigerated

Required Information	Kidney or nephrostomy urine only, all other urine culture specimens see CULTUR
Stability	Preserved Urine: Ambient 48 hours, Refrigerated 48 hour Unpreserved Urine: Ambient 2 hours, Refrigerated 24 hours
Unacceptable Specimen Conditions	Delayed transport of unpreserved urine (greater than two hours at room temperature or greater than 24 hours refrigerated).
Limitations	Kidney or nephrostomy urine only, all other urine culture specimens see CULTUR
