General Information

Rapid Detection of Flu A+B by rapid chromatographic immunoassay. The Influenza A+B FIA employs immunofluorescence to detect influenza A and influenza B viral nucleoprotein antigens from the nasopharyngeal swab.

Container Type

NP/Nasal swab:  Submit swab in 1 mL saline
Nasopharyngeal wash:  Submit sample in sterile container

Specimen Type

Preferred: Nasopharyngeal swab, Nasopharyngeal wash or aspirate.
Will also accept: Nasal swab

Specimen Collection / Processing Instructions

Break swab into saline tube. Refrigerate.
