Felix Martinez, JR, M.D.

After receiving his medical degree from the University of Colorado, Dr. Martinez completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of New Mexico.

He continued his postgraduate education as a fellow in surgical pathology at the University of Iowa, followed by a fellowship in cytopathology at St Louis University.

Dr. Martinez is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology with subspecialty board certification in cytopathology.

He came to Spokane in 1987 and assumed immediately, along with his other duties as a busy general surgical pathologist, the directorship of Cytology Services for InCyte Pathology.

He has subspecialty interest in fine needle aspiration cytology, image guided needle sampling, cervical pathology, the biology of HPV infection, and pulmonary pathology.

Dr. Martinez has volunteered as a pathologist overseas in Kenya, Nepal and Vietnam.
