Karen M. Ireland, M.D.
Dr. Ireland received her medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University. She completed her residency at the University of Colorado Medical Center and a fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in gynecologic pathology.
She is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and cytopathology, with a strong subspecialty interest in gynecologic pathology.
Dr. Ireland has trained many medical students and residents during her twenty-year tenure as a surgical pathologist at Oregon Health Sciences University. In 2003, she received the H.P. Smith Award for Distinguished Pathology Educator from the ASCP.
She joined InCyte Pathology in 1998. She has served as the Commissioner of Continuing Education and as a member of the Board of Directors for the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
She is a member of the Gynecologic Oncology Group Pathology Committee as well as the Western Association of Gynecologic Oncologists, United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, Arthur Purdy Stout Society of Surgical Pathologists, International Society of Gynecologic Pathologists, International Gynecologic Cancer Society and the Pacific Northwest Society of Pathologists.
